These hands-on programs will be presented by Marilou Rochford, MA, CFLE, Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family & Community Health Sciences Educator. The future chefs will learn many new skills plus how to prepare a variety of foods and snacks. These camps were first developed in 2013 to incorporate nutrition education with hands-on food preparation lessons to encourage a lifetime of healthy eating habits. At the end of the program, participants will be able to prepare simple and healthy foods for themselves and their family
Junior Chefs II is for students who have graduated from the Chefs I camp or have previous cooking experience. In Chefs II students again cook to eat healthy, and build on their previous kitchen experiences. They will gain additional kitchen skills learning more complex techniques and recipes.
