“It’s important that everyone continues to practice good hand hygiene, social distancing (at least 6 feet apart) and staying home as much as possible,” said Health Officer Kevin Thomas. “These strategies will best help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.”

Recommended safe practices include:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (only if soap and water are not available).
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Avoid contact with sick people.
  • Avoid non-essential travel.

Call your healthcare professional if you have concerns about COVID-19 and your underlying health conditions. Stay up to date on the current situation as it evolves.
