Cape May County Wellness Program
About the Wellness Division
The Cape May County Wellness Division is dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyle choices for all Cape May County employees. Through a collaborative approach to health education, promotion, and facilitation of present services offered to our community; we are committed to providing opportunities that support growth in the multiple dimensions of health: physical, emotional, social, and environmental. The goals of the Wellness Division are to:
- Offer programs and services emphasizing awareness, prevention, and positive health behavior change,
- Provide current and accurate information on personal and community health issues
- Foster a campus environment (with outreach to satellite divisions) supportive of a healthy lifestyle, and
- Provide knowledge and skills to improve and maintain health that may enhance personal and/or work performance.
- Key component to the American Heart Association’s “Fit Friendly Workplace” Gold Award
Wellness Programs for the Community
CRMC Diabetic Education Program
If you or a family member are living with diabetes, you are already aware that there’s a lot to know. To help with your questions and concerns, Cape Regional Medical Center offers a dedicated Diabetic Nurse Educator and various education programs. Cape May County Library
Libraries aren’t just about books anymore! The Cape May County Library offers a variety of classes each month that help get you moving, relieve stress and to become more informed about healthy lifestyles. For more information: 609-465-6350 (main branch) or visit the Cape May County Library.
CRMC Cardiac Rehab Program
Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Cape Regional Medical Center is a medically supervised program to enable heart and pulmonary patients to recover quickly and improve their overall physical, mental and social functioning. Cape May Cape County Special Services Aquatic Program
The aquatic staff of the CMC Special Services School District's Olympic-size indoor pool, provides swimming programs of excellence to district students and also offers numerous aquatic programs opened to the public for a nominal fee. Cape May County Department of Health
Cape May County Health Department is dedicated to achieving a healthy community and the prevention of disease by assuring that high quality services, including personal health services, are accessible to all. Center for Lifestyle Management
The Center for Lifestyle Management at Cape Regional Medical Center offers an extensive variety of support groups, health literature, educational classes, wellness programs and information about healthcare services in Cape May County.
Support groups are also available for patients dealing with pulmonary rehabilitation, gastric bypass and lymphedema. Meeting of AA, AlAnon, and Overeaters Anonymous are also held at the Center. Certification programs are offered in CPR, Safe Sitter, and Smoking Cessation.
The health education series covers a variety of topics, from stress management and fitness workshops to nutrition and ways to maximize memory. Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, fracture risk and peripheral artery disease health screenings are administered by Cape Regional Medical Center professionals.
