Get Paid While Learning a Trade
The On-The-Job Training program provides an opportunity for unemployed workers to learn a new trade while being paid up to 26 weeks. The goal is for workers to learn while on the job which can lead to full-time employment.
The One-Stop Center is staffed with an OJT specialist for those seeking more information and discuss current employers participating in the program.
The Cape May County One-Stop Center is funded under the Work Force Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federally funded training and job program that creates a new approach, providing workforce activities through statewide and local systems.
The program is not an entitlement. Rather, it is a last resort for employment offering those who qualify—generally Adults, Dislocated Workers, and Older Youth (18-24)—education and training opportunities in specific in-demand occupations that will lead to full-time employment.
