The Environmental Services Department permits and inspects businesses that offer tattooing, permanent cosmetics, and ear and body piercing to the public in order to protect the public’s health. All businesses that intend to perform body art procedures must get a permit from the Cape May County Department of Health prior to operation. Permitted businesses are then inspected once a year or more frequently if necessary.
