Air Sanitation

Program Objective

The main objective of this program is to monitor and enforce the New Jersey Air Pollution Control Code. This department investigates complaints from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), citizens and local governmental agencies. The investigations consist of, but not limited to:
  • Certificates
  • Particulate
  • Permits

Inspections

We are required by the NJDEP to conduct minor source facility compliance monitoring inspections of:
  • Dry cleaners
We also inspect boilers and generators in facilities such as:
  • Apartments
  • Government buildings
  • Offices
  • Schools
  • Small businesses
This department maintains an inventory of minor and other delegated source facilities and their inspection reports. These reports are used to support enforcement action if necessary by this department or the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
