Transportation planning is a comprehensive, coordinated and continuing process by which foreseeable transportation needs are analyzed from state, regional and local perspectives. The process involves activities of state, county, municipal agencies, public authorities, citizens organizations, regional transportation planning agencies, and others and includes social, economic, energy, and environmental considerations. The Planning Department is actively involved in this process and represents the County at the monthly meetings of the Technical Advisory Committee of the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization. Information on County projects can be found in the SJTPO Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP -
