Overview
Health and fitness should be a number 1 priority in everyone’s lives. By making better food choices and staying physically active, you’re already on your way to living healthier. We all make choices every day hopefully we avoid risky behaviors such as smoking, not staying active, and eating poorly. Fitness Pyramid
It is very important to get at least 30 minutes a day of moderate physical activity. It could be anything from walking the dog, mowing the lawn, or taking a bike ride. These activities may cause a minor increase in breathing and heart rate. The fitness pyramid illustrates how a person’s day should be spent.
  • Decrease activities such as watching TV or sitting at the computer.
  • Strength training exercises should be done at least 2-3 days a week on 8-10 different muscles per day.
  • Stretching can improve flexibility. Stretches should be held for at least 20-30 seconds only causing mild tension, not pain.
