Free Public Access
The Land Records Public Search site offers free public access to electronic land records recorded in Cape May County, New Jersey, USA. The documents available on this site were recorded from August 12, 2000 to present with some records series including deeds, mortgages, discharges (of mortgage) and subdivision maps from January 1, 1996 to present.

Hard copy records maintained by the County Clerk, which have not been digitized, are available for research at the:

Self-Service Copies Available in Person

Self-service copies of records are available in the Record Room at $0.05 per page for a letter size (8.5-inches-by-11-inches) document.

Certified Copies

Certified copies of records made and certified by County Clerk’s staff are available for $1 per document page plus $10 for the certification. The County Clerk’s Office will certify complete documents only (no partial documents will be certified). Determine in advance the number of pages in the document you are requesting and remit the appropriate fee. (Example: The fee for a certified copy of a 3 page document is $13.)

Quick Service for Non-Certified Copies Via Facsimile

Non-certified copies of records made by Clerk’s staff and delivered on the same business day via facsimile are available for $2 per page. Call 609-465-1023 with your VISA or MasterCard during open hours, Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.

Copy Orders by Mail or Courier Service

Mail orders of records are available for $0.05 per page. Please mail your request listing the requested documents by book and page or file number, along with your check for the correct amount to the Cape May County Clerk's Office, P.O. Box 5000, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210-5000. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope or prepaid courier envelope of sufficient size to accommodate the request. Mail orders will be processed within 7 days of receipt.
