[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update - 3/17/21

For vaccine information on where, when, who, and how, please visit capemaycountynj.gov. The Cape May County Department of Health administered 160 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 16, 2021, for a total of 13,137 doses so far. The New Jersey Health Department reports that 46,573 doses of the vaccine have been administered in Cape May County when combining the vaccine doses given out by the Cape May County Department of Health and other entities. This total number of doses includes a combination of first and second doses.

Cape May County’s Rate of Transmission (RT) has remained under 1.0 since Jan. 16. The latest RT according to the website covidactnow.com is currently at .96. Any number below 1.0 means the spread of the virus is currently decreasing. The percent of positive COVID-19 tests is at 4.6% and the County has been below 5% for a week.

The Cape May County Department of Health is announcing today that 30 new positive test samples were collected among County residents over the past several days. While Cape May County has recorded 7361 COVID-19 cases during the pandemic, 6872 of those are now off quarantine.
