[ARCHIVED] Rutgers Cooperative Extension Offers Winter Workshop, "Pruning the Home Landscape"

Cape May Court House, NJ - Rutgers Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce that it is presenting a year-long series titled, “Gardening by the Seasons”. The goal of the series is to educate Cape May County residents and visitors on the essentials of gardening in our area and to provide them with the knowledge to help their gardens flourish. The first workshop in the series is "Pruning the Home Landscape." It will take place on Monday, February 22nd from 10 a.m. until noon at the Cape May County Park & Zoo, 707 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.

The workshop will be taught by Daisy Bodnar, long-time gardener at the County Park & Zoo and former Rutgers Master Gardener for Cape May County. Attendees will learn why pruning is important, pruning techniques for landscape shrubs, and when to prune specific plants. This is a hands-on workshop where participants will practice the different pruning cuts on a variety of plants. This class will be conducted outside and everyone is encouraged to bring their own pruning tools and gloves.

No prior experience is required, however, space is limited to 20 people. The fee for the class is $20 and preregistration is required.
