The Cape May County Library has several great events this month for the whole family. These include the Lower Township Library branch hosting a brief presentation and then a hayride at Les Rea Farms. This is limited to 30 attendees. The Library will also host a Pumpkin Painting event at 3 P.M. on Oct. 24 at its Cape May Court House location and on Oct. 26 at its Lower Township branch. The Cape May County Division of Workforce Development One-Stop Center provides an array of career and job training, education and employment services at one location. Specific services target unemployed and dislocated workers, youths, veterans, ex-offenders, age 55-plus, and those who have a physical or mental disability. The program offers eligible residents education and training grants up to $4,000, and paid On-The-Job-Training opportunities in various fields. The Citizens/Veterans Advisory Committee is hosting a workshop at Atlantic Cape Community College to provide opportunities for Veterans to deal with stress and other challenges in complimentary ways that are more upbeat, fun, and integrative to create an overall feeling of wellness, balance, and relaxation. It will take place on Oct. 19 from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. The event is free for veterans. $25 WAWA gift cards will be given to the first 10 veterans who register at 609-600-7237.
