Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences Announces Next Workshop in Year-Long Wellness Series…Lessons for “Staying Young” through Diet and Exercise

Save the Date! Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) next workshop, in their year-long Wellness Series, will be held in September 2016. As a new school year gets underway and the fall season arrives, it is time for you to focus on you! FCHS will offer the workshop, Lessons for “Staying Young” through diet and Exercise, on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. The program will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey (Turn at the light at ACCC, it is the first building on the right). The building is handicapped accessible.

The focus, of this new program, will be on how the balance of a healthy diet and exercise program can help you remain youthful and energetic. Marilou Rochford, FCHS Educator, said, “Research shows that eating more nutrient rich foods and avoiding processed and fatty foods will help to keep you healthy longer. Plus a diet high in antioxidants combined with regular exercise can improve your quality of life.” This program will not only educate the participant on the types of foods to add to your diet and those foods to avoid but also provide you with strength training exercises that you can incorporate in your daily life.
