[ARCHIVED] Rutgers Cooperative Extension Offers Workshop, Lessons for “Staying Young” through Diet and Exercise

Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) will offer the workshop, Lessons for “Staying Young” through Diet and Exercise, on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. The workshop, part of a year-long Wellness Series, will take place from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey (Turn at the light at ACCC, it is the first building on the right). The building is handicapped accessible.

As a new school year gets underway and the fall season arrives, it is time for you to focus on you! This inter-active workshop will focus on how the balance of a healthy diet and exercise program can help you remain youthful and energetic. Participants will learn seven exercises to help maintain your youth plus tips for “Successful” Aging, as well as, the role that a positive attitude and socialization plays in the aging process.

Marilou Rochford, FCHS Educator, said, “Research shows that eating more nutrient rich foods and avoiding processed and fatty foods will help to keep you healthy longer. Plus a diet high in antioxidants combined with regular exercise can improve your quality of life.” This program will not only educate the participant on the types of foods to add to your diet but also those foods to avoid.”

The cost for this workshop is $15 and advanced registration is required. Space is limited, so, please reserve your place early. Call Marian at (609) 465-5115, ext. 609 or email for more information or to register for the program.
