[ARCHIVED] Rutgers Extension Agricultural and Resource Management Program Offers Workshop on Home Hydroponics

Save the Date for the Home Hydroponics Workshop coming in January 2017. Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Agricultural and Resource Management Program is offering the first workshop in the 2017 Workshop Series, "Gardening by the Seasons” on Thursday, January 26, 2017. The Home Hydroponics Workshop will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse - South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.

The presenter will be Jen Sawyer, Rutgers Master Gardener Coordinator for Cape May County. Participants will learn the basics of small scale hydroponics, the benefits of growing without soil, and how to grow fresh greens and culinary herbs.


Plus, participants will go home with their own starter kits and three plants.


"Hydroponics enables anyone to experience growing fresh herbs and greens even if you don’t have a garden or soil. We are excited to include this program as part of our "Gardening by the Seasons" workshop series which will continue in 2017, said Jenny S. Carleo, Rutgers Agricultural and Resource Management Agent for Cape May County.


This is a beginner class, therefore, no experience is needed. The cost for this workshop is $20 and includes a lite supper at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m..
