Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program

Cape May Court House, NJ – Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences Program will hold a free information session with Cape May County Surrogate M. Susan Sheppard, Esq. for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. The program will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey (Turn at the light at ACCC, it is the first building on the right). The building is handicap accessible.
Surrogate Sheppard will provide information on guardianship, adoption, wills, and other issues that are important to the participants of the program. Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren. A light supper will be served at 5:30p.m. and the program will follow at 6p.m.
Sheppard was elected Surrogate Judge in 2012. Prior to becoming Surrogate, Sheppard served on the Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2011 until her swearing in as Surrogate on December 31, 2012. As the Surrogate Judge of Cape May County, Sheppard is both the Judge and Clerk of that Court. She is responsible for the probate of wills, the appointment of administrators of estates, guardians for minors and incapacitated persons and adoptions.

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will meet the third Wednesday of every month in 2017, except for the months of June and July when there are no scheduled meetings.
