On January 24, 2017 the Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized the County Clerk’s Office for obtaining a perfect score during their Passport Acceptance Agent’s Audit conducted by the U.S. Department of State on December 7, 2016.

Freeholder Liaison Leonard Desiderio (2nd from left) presented a certificate to County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti (3rd from left) and Chief Clerk Patricia Mabry (4th from left).

Desiderio said, “The County Clerk’s Office has been very busy in their role as Acceptance Agency for the U. S. Department of State Passport Services. Because of the volume of customers and the complexity of the service, area Post Offices and Acceptance Agencies are requiring appointments for first time Passport Applicants, as far as two weeks out. The Cape May County Clerk’s Office is one of the few agencies still accepting walk in customers. It continues to be a great customer service provided by our County Government.”

Clerk Fulginiti said “Following the audit the representative from the Department of State attributed our high marks to the leadership of Patricia Mabry and our Passport Acceptance Agents who annually test and recertify keeping up to date with the regulations. In 2016 the County Clerk’s Office assisted 1,515 passport applicants in person, many entire families of four or more.”
