[ARCHIVED] CMC Zoo Welcomes a New Giraffe

The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders is proud to announce an addition to our family! The Park and Zoo welcomes a new male Giraffe to its ever expanding, recently rated Top Ten Zoo in New Jersey! ‘Jambazi’ was born at the Albuquerque Zoo and made the cross country move to Cape May last week. Jambazi will be 2 years old June 12th 2017. Associate Veterinarian for the Zoo, Dr. Alex Ernst says, “He fits right in our current herd 25 year old female ‘June,’ 12 year old female ‘Joanie’ and 1.5 year old male ‘Kif.’ When he reaches maturity in a few years we hope that he will prove to be a good mate for ‘Joanie’ but until that time he will make an excellent addition to our herd and playmate for ‘Kif’.”

Come visit Jambazi and the family in the African Savanna at the Park and Zoo. We are open every day, except Christmas, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. For more information visit the website at www.cmcZoo.com or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Check out our Animal Encounters on our website, where you can meet Jambazi and the crew face to face.
