[ARCHIVED] Cape May County Begins New Monthly E-Newsletter

Residents and visitors of Cape May County can now get monthly news updates from County government. The e-newsletter will be emailed out the first week of every month to update interested individuals on news that has happened and upcoming events.

Anyone who is interested in signing up can go to the Cape May County website at capemaycountynj.gov. When they arrive on the website they should go to the top right-hand corner and click “sign in”. There you will create an account and you can choose what updates to sign up for.

“Since I have become Freeholder Director, I have wanted to make it easier for the community to interact with us,” said Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton. “The Freeholder Board has made a number of important steps to accomplish this. We are always looking for new ideas to engage with the community.”

This month’s newsletter went out to over 1,000 people. The highlighted stories included tourism revenue increasing in 2018, highlighting the County’s Memorial Day ceremony, and reminding residents of the upcoming Code Red test. Updates in upcoming months will come from the various County departments, like the Cape May County Zoo, Health Department, Engineer’s Department, and more.

“This newsletter will provide a snapshot of all of the services and news that the County residents need to know about,” said Thornton. “We have a lot going on as a County and it is our job to find different ways to get the information out there.”
