
Cape May Court House, NJ –Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Family & Community Health Sciences Program will offer a Junior Chefs Cooking Workshop this Fall for aspiring young chefs 8 to 12 years of age. The afterschool workshop will take place on two Mondays, October 21st and October 28th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
This hands-on program will be presented by Chris Zellers, Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family & Community Health Sciences Interim Educator. The future chefs will learn many new skills. The sessions will incorporate nutrition education with hands-on food preparation lessons to encourage a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
Zellers said, “The Junior Chefs Cooking Workshop is designed to engage the students from start to finish while teaching them the nutritional benefits of cooking at home.”
This program is for students that are beginning to develop their skills. They will be taught the basics of food preparation, kitchen safety, the five food groups and cooking techniques to create tasty dishes.
The cost for the workshop, two sessions, is $30. Participants are required to attend both sessions. Space is limited, so, please reserve your child’s space by October 11, 2019.
