The vote is in and people have spoken, the Cape May County Zoo has been named one of the Top 25 Zoos in the Country and the World according to TripAdvisor. The Cape May County Zoo ranked #13 out of 25 top zoos in the world; and #5 out of the top 25 zoos in the United States.

TripAdvisor, considered the world’s largest travel site, recently unveiled their 2015 list of Top Zoos in the World and the United States, and in the category of top zoos, the Cape May County Zoo was among the top zoos in the world and in the country.

The staff at the zoo is elated with the news and the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders could not be more proud of the designation. Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton told the Zoo Administration, “On behalf of the Board of Chosen Freeholder, we are very proud of all of you. Really WELL DONE! You make our small County SHINE!”

Freeholder Marie Hayes, who oversees the Cape May County Park and Zoo, reported that as a result of the TripAdvisor Designation, the staff and some animals were invited to participate in a live segment of Fox and Friends in New York City on Saturday July 17, from 8 a.m. to 10 a. m.

“We are very excited about being named as one of the top zoos in the country and the world and anxious to see our staff on Fox and Friends letting viewers know what makes the Cape May County Zoo among the best,” Hayes said.

“Kudos to Dr. Hubert Paluch, Zoo Director, Dr. Alex Ernst, Associate Veterinarian, Edward Runyon, Park Director and Jean Whalen, Assistant Park Director and the entire staff at the Cape May County Park and Zoo. Recognition like this takes a team effort and they all work to make our zoo the best”, Hayes added.
