Former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Michael J. Donohue was formally appointed Director of Operation/Acting County Administrator in a consulting capacity on May 19, 2020. Mr. Donohue acts as the Chief Administrative Official for the Board of Chosen Freeholders. He administers the affairs of Cape May County and is responsible to the Board. He also serves as liaison between the Freeholders and other governmental bodies, independent authorities and the public. Mr. Donohue is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both the executive and legislative components of Cape May County Government.
Prior to his service as a Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Judge Donohue had over twenty years of experience in the representation of New Jersey governmental entities and served as a Councilman for the Borough of Stone Harbor.
Michael J. Donohue is a graduate of Middle Township High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in World Politics from the Catholic University of America and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Stetson University College of Law. He is Senior Counsel at the Law Offices of Blaney & Karavan, P.C. Mr. Donohue lives in Cape May County with his wife and three children.
